Ordering & Shipping
Not at this time. We ship within the contiguous United States only. Firearms, NFA items, and ammunition are subject to additional shipping restrictions based on state and local laws.
Shipping and lead times vary by product – rather than give you a blanket answer that doesn’t apply to what you actually ordered, lead times for each product are listed directly on that product’s page so you always know what to expect before you buy.
What we can tell you is this – when you order from THEORY1 you’re trusting us with your money and your timeline, and we don’t take that lightly. We move as fast as the process allows on every single order, and we are constantly working to improve that timeline.
If you have a hard deadline – an upcoming hunt, competition, a specific date you need gear in hand – reach out to us directly before or immediately after ordering. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can hit your timeline and do everything within our power to make it happen.

Yes. All firearm and suppressor transfers must go through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. During checkout, you’ll be asked to provide your preferred FFL dealer’s information. If you’re unsure which dealer to use, contact us and we’ll help you find one in your area.
Suppressors & NFA
Suppressors are legal for civilian ownership in 42 states. They are currently prohibited in California, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington D.C. It is your responsibility to verify the laws in your jurisdiction before ordering. Laws can change — check with your state’s attorney general or a qualified attorney for the most current information.
As of January 1, 2026, the $200 cost for the federal tax stamp for suppressors has been eliminated. However, suppressors remain NFA-regulated items. You still need to submit ATF paperwork, pass a background check, and complete the transfer through an FFL/SOT dealer. The registration and approval process through the ATF has not changed.
If ATF transfer paperwork has not yet been submitted, you may cancel your order with a 10% restocking fee. Once ATF paperwork has been submitted, all suppressor sales are final — no returns, no exceptions. See our full Shipping & Returns policy for details.
Currently all THEORY1 suppressors use a 5/8×24 direct thread interface.
Yes, within the rate of fire limits. Never exceed 15 rounds per minute. The HEL1O is an ultralight titanium suppressor optimized for precision hunting — it is not rated for sustained rapid fire or fully automatic use.
Buying a suppressor is more straightforward than most people think – especially now. As of January 1, 2026, the $200 NFA tax stamp cost has been eliminated. You still complete the ATF paperwork and background check, but that financial barrier is gone.
Here’s exactly how it works with THEORY1:
- ORDER ONLINE – Purchase your suppressor directly on THEORY-1.com. At checkout you’ll be asked to provide the FFL/SOT information for the dealer you want your suppressor shipped to. This is a licensed dealer in your state who holds Special Occupational Tax status to accept NFA transfers. If you’re not sure who to use, most local gun shops can tell you if they’re SOT qualified.
- WE VERIFY YOUR DEALER – Once your order is placed we contact your dealer directly to confirm they’ll accept the transfer an collect/verify their FFL/SOT documentation if we don’t already have it on file. This typically takes 1-3 business days.
- WE FILE THE ATF FORM 3- Before we can ship your suppressor to your dealer, federal law requires us to file an ATF Form 3 – a manufacturer-to-dealer transfer form. Once submitted, Form 3 approval typically takes 1-2 business days. We ship the moment it’s approved.
- YOUR SUPPRESSOR SHIPS – Once the Form 3 is approved we ship your suppressor directly to your dealer. You’ll receive a tracking notification when it’s on its way.
- YOU COMPLETE YOUR ATF FORM 4 – When your suppressor arrives at your dealer they’ll notify you. At that point you visit your dealer to complete your ATF Form 4 – the transfer paperwork that puts the suppressor in your name. Your dealer will walk you through it. You’ll need a passport-style photo and fingerprints as part of the submission – Silencer Shop Kiosks make this simple if your FFL has one. You can file as an individual or as an NFA trust – your dealer can advise on which makes sense for your situation.
- ATF APPROVES YOUR FORM 4 – The ATF reviews your Form 4. Approval times vary – you can check current ATF processing times here. You’ll be notified when it’s approved.
- PICK UP YOUR SUPPRESSOR – Once your Form 4 is approved return to your dealer, complete the standard ATF 4473 background check – same form you fill out when buying any firearm – and walk out with your THEORY1 suppressor.

Products
THEORY1 rifle systems ship ready to shoot as a complete rifle – everything except the optic, and if you know exactly what you want, we can even include that, too. That means action, barrel, stock or chassis, magazine and trigger. Everything is fitted, torqued, and assembled as a system, not a parts list someone threw together.
At checkout you have the option to build your package beyond the base rifle. Add-ons include a break-in and data package, load development package, custom hard case, and more – depending on how turnkey you want your setup to be.
You can order the rifle and handle the fun stuff yourself. Or you can order a complete turnkey system that ships ready to mount an optic, get to the range, and execute. Either way the rifle underneath is the same – built without compromise, tested before it leaves our hands.
Optics are not included. We’ll have recommendations if you need them – reach out and we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
Yes. The AX1OM chassis is available as a standalone product on a Remington 700 short action footprint. See the Shop page for details.
Warranty & Returns
Yes. THEORY1 rifle systems and the AX1OM chassis carry a lifetime warranty to any owner — original or subsequent. This is part of our commitment to building products that last.
No. The HEL1O suppressor warranty is to the original registered purchaser only and is non-transferable.
We stand behind every rifle we build – completely. Here’s how it works:
Buy a THEORY1 rifle system. Run at least one box of THEORY1 ammunition through it – we ask this because we don’t want to be held accountable for sub-par ammo. If after running our ammo through the rifle you still aren’t completely satisfied, reach out to us within 45 days of your purchase date, ship it back, and we’ll refund you – no hassle, no hard feelings.
The only things we don’t reimburse are the costs of the ammo and shipping costs both ways. Everything else comes back to you.
The one condition is that the rifle comes back in good working order – the same condition it left us in. We are doing this because we want to overdeliver in every way, and we will, until it’s abused.
We don’t want you to own a rifle you aren’t completely happy with. Nobody wins from that. So if it’s not right for you, send it back. We’ll make it right.
